Cornell Abroad offers these opportunities as ways for you to promote study abroad, share your experience, and build on it

 
Cornell abroad Ambassador Job Description
Share your experience and inspire the next generation!  Become a Cornell Abroad Ambassador! You will be an official representative of Cornell Abroad on campus.  Time commitment is about 1 hour per week, primarily at the beginning of the semester, and very flexible to fit into your schedule.
 
Ambassadors represent Cornell Abroad by:
            Presenting in 6 classes, less than 5 minutes each. We provide class lists.
            Staffing a Cornell Abroad table at events, usually with one or two other Ambassadors
             
Ambassadors meet 3 times a semester to share ideas and plan activities. Often extra group activity afterwards, like a corn maze in the fall or dinner at the Ethiopian restaurant downtown.


           
STEERING COMMITTEE POSITIONS
For Ambassadors interested in more leadership, positions are available on the Steering Committee. Steering Committee Coordinators meet weekly (less frequently after break) with Staff Supervisor or as a group, to share ideas and plan.  Time commitment is about 2-3 hours a week, flexible hours.
 
            CLASSROOM & MEETING COORDINATOR

Prepare agenda for general body meetings and send it out
Coordinate location of meetings
Set up class presentation spreadsheet, esp. First Year Seminars, for Ambassadors to choose from
Track Ambassadors’ class presentations, support where needed
 
            INTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Send out newsletter/email after meeting with highlights/assignments/news
Collect Ambassadors’ bios & photos for Yearbook
Assist staff member with bonding activity, like trip to pumpkin farm or Corning Museum of Glass
 
            EXTERNAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Review list of events, add new ones, prioritize which to focus on
Secure Cornell Abroad’s participation
Coordinate Ambassadors’ participation in events
 
            SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR

Advise and assist with social media
Set up fun activities and contests
Seek items for Cornell Abroad social media platforms from on- and off-campus sources
