Cornell Abroad

2017 Photo Contest

Enter your favorite photographs taken abroad during the past year!  Cornell Abroad invites returned students to submit photographs for the Annual Cornell Abroad Photo Contest. Photo submissions are archived into the CU Abroad photo library, used in CU Abroad publications, as well as showcased in the annual Spring Photo, Art and Poetry Exhibit.

 Eligibility

-   You are a Cornell Abroad student returned from study abroad
-   This is the first time you are submitting to the contest
-   All entries were taken by you or of you while abroad and are your property
 

Judging Criteria
     
Contest winners are carefully selected based on the following characteristics:
    -  subject choice and composition               
    -  technical skill     
    -  "international" essence
    -  depiction of local, cultural or academic life
    -  photos taken in the study abroad location (we like photos with you in them, too!)
    -  photos showing Cornell students engaged in study abroad activity (fieldwork, service-learning, educational excursion, work with faculty, etc.)

Submission Deadline:  February 15th

Submission Instructions

-   Download the Photo Contest Entry Form
-   Save and rename your completed contest form using your netID (ex: abc00-form)
-   High resolution digital photos are preferred--do not resize photos
-   Name and save your 5 favorite photos using your NetID and the numbers 1-5. 
       (Ex: abc00-1, abc00-2) You may submit a maximum of five (5) photos.
-   Upload your completed form and 5 photos to the following Cornell Box link. Click on "log into an existing account",  then sign in with your netID and Cornell password. (Do NOT create a new box account, as every Cornell student already has a "Cornell Box" account that opens with your netID & secure password.)
    -   Artwork and poetry for the Exhibit may be brought to 300 Caldwell Hall
    -   All entries be the property of the student

 Prize Amounts:

       First Place:  $100
       Second Place:  $75
       Third Place:  $50
       Special Recognition (best photo of student(s) studying abroad):  $50
